Tagboard in Friendster Blog
Many of you guys using Friendster blogs must be missing the tagboard feature your friends brag about when they refer to their Blogger blogs. If you want to edit the HTML of your blog templates in Friendster, normally you will have to upgrade your account with something like 5 US$ a month. But now you will be shown that it is possible to put a tagboard in the FREE blogs of friendster.
—
1. First go to Cbox.ws or any of your favorite tagboard websites and create a tagboard.
2. Optionally, you may edit the width and height of the tagboard to better match the width of a Friendster Blog Post. (This is because the tagboard will be a “post” in your blog to Friendster and therefore will take up the same width as your regular posts. That’s the drawback of this trick.)
3. Get it’s final HTML code.
4. Open Notepad and paste that HTML code. (If you’re good at HTML you may further modify it.)
5. While saving this code in Notepad, be sure to select “All Files” in the “Save as type” box and to enter “.htm” at the end of the file name, for example “mytagboard.htm”
6. Open this saved file (example: mytagboard.htm) in your browser. (Find the file and double-click on it to open it.)
7. Now you will see the actual tagboard. Select all of it (press Ctrl-A or Edit > Select All)
8. Open the “Create New Post” page of your Friendster blog.
9. Paste the tagboard in the box where you would normally type your post. (You may give the title “Tagboard” in the Title box so that you know that the post is the tagboard.)
10. Optionally, change Comments to None and keep TrackBacks unchecked. (This will help avoid people from accidentally posting comments when they intend to post messages in the tagboard.)
11. Click the Save button.
12. After publishing, you’ll be back at the edit post page. (Otherwise you can always go and find the Tagboard post and edit it.)
13. Now you should see the post time and date (with a clock icon) in the “Publishing Status” section. Click on it to get a pop-up.
14. Change the date to somewhere in the future, at least a year away, but recommended like 50 years into the future! This is to ensure that the tagboard always stays on top and doesn’t get lost in your normal posts. (Remember that when this future date becomes present, you will have to edit the tagboard post and change the date to an even future future date. It depends on how many times you’re willing to click that “>” arrow button in the pop-up.)
15. Save the post again by clicking the “Save” button.
